P-Tech

Culberson County-Allamoore Independent School District (CCAISD) was awarded the competitive P-Tech and ICIA Planning Grant for 2019-2020. P-Tech stands for Pathways to Technology Early College High School, and the Texas Education Agency has approved our request to design a collegiate program that will prepare Van Horn students for STEM careers in local industry fields.

The P-Tech grant represents an exciting opportunity to establish a rigorous school-to-career pipeline in Van Horn and prepare our students for high-paying, high-demand jobs in our region. As part of the program, students will earn a high school diploma, an industry-recognized associate degree, and gain relevant work experience in a growing field. These opportunities are designed to support students’ academic and professional growth, completely tuition free. Through partnerships with Odessa College and local businesses, the P-Tech curriculum has the potential to open up pathways to industry internships and competitive job placement after graduation.

We are in the design phase of the P-Tech planning grant, and we plan to open the doors to our P-Teach collegiate high school in the Fall of 2020. We will be posting our design materials publically, so continue to check back for more information!
