8th Grade Boys Basketball - Presidio |

On Saturday December 12 the 8th grade boys traveled to Presidio to partake in a Jr. High tournament. The first game was a bye. The second game we played Ft. Stockton and beat them 58- 8.
Top score against Ft. Stockton was Jacob Ontiveros with 17 points; the second top scorers were David Mapula and Ryan Martinez both with 10 points. With a bye and a win it put the 8th grade boys into the championship round. We ended up playing Presidio for the championship. We took a while to take over the game, but not with out a struggle. In the 3rd quarter we started to click as a unit and finally took over the game. We beat Presidio 37-22. The top scores for the Presidio game were Ryan Martinez with 16 points and Jacob Ontiveros had 11 points. In the end I was proud of our boys. All tournament for the 8th grade went out to Jacob Ontiveros, Ryan Martinez, and Daniel Quintana. The defensive MVP of the tournament was given to Jacob Ontiveros. |
